Creating your own luxurious spa at home can be an easy task or it might need a little more effort depending on how elaborate you want the results to be. It would be best, though, to put in that little extra to make your spa special. The best place to use and the easiest space would be the bathroom. These are only suggestions and you can improvize.
Step 1 – Prepare Your Bathroom
Your bathroom should be spotless, as even a spot on the mirror can become a major distraction. Set out everything for your spa. Remove all distractions in the bathroom. This is the space completely dedicated for your spa. Decide whether you want the new installation to be permanent or temporary. If you only need the spa for a day or weekend, set it up the night before.
Step 2 – Setting the Scene
If you have roommates, children or a spouse, make sure to tell them you will be unavailable while you are in your spa.
Start by warming the towels and slippers. Use your microwave, but be sure to place a bowl of water with it so that your towels do not dry out. Place the warm towels in the hot box. Set up your music. Place the colored bowls around to reflect the candlelight. Light the candles and fill the bath with enough hot water to cover your body. Add your choice of essential oil, bath oil or bath crystals. If you have a peace lily, let it float on the bath water.
Step 3 – Start Enjoying Your Spa
Step into your luxurious robe. Check the water temperature, slip off your robe and start enjoying a luxurious soak (remember to listen to the music and relax). You may want to use an avocado face-mask while you soak. Do not let the water cool down too much. Use your loofah or spa cloth to exfoliate.
When you have had enough, reach for a warm towel and wrap yourself in it. Slip on your warm slippers and have a seat on your little stool. Use your chosen body oil and start with massaging. Begin at your feet and work up your legs to feel the relaxation. Rinse your face (if you have used a mask) and dab with a nice warm face towel. Massage your face, hands, arms and shoulders with the tissue oil.
