Data Loss And Corruption

Anyone that has ever lost data or files knows how important data recovery tools are. Data loss is a big problem regardless of whether you lose personal pictures or a large client presentation you’ve been working on. Eventually, every single one of us that regularly uses a computer is likely to fall foul to data loss and it is estimated that every year one in ten of us does. Data loss can happen for a number of reasons. Virus and spyware infections, power failures and outages, mistakenly deleted files, and formatted hard drives are among the most common reasons but there are many others.

Finding Recoverable Files

Handy Recovery is a simple to use but highly effective data recovery package that lets users quickly and easily undelete files. It not only works on the various types of hard drive but also on floppy drives, external drives, and independent drives. Handy Recovery can even restore files that you may have believed were completely removed from your recycle bin. It can do so because Windows rarely deletes the entire contents of any deleted or lost file. Even when the file itself is deleted, references and links exist and Handy Recovery can essentially piece these together to regenerate the whole file.

Simple To Use And Surprisingly Powerful

In order to make Handy Recovery as user friendly as possible it is designed using an interface and search function that looks and feels almost identical to those belonging to Windows. You can search your entire computer and any drives connected to it for files that have been deleted. In the event that Handy Recovery finds any such files it will display a list of the results in a browser similar to Windows explorer. This browser gives details of all available details of that file including, where possible, the file name.

Structured File Trees

As well as being able to restore a single file, the nature of the file browser means you can restore an entire branch or root of folders. If necessary you can recover an entire formatted partition on a hard drive. If this isn’t enough it also uses a powerful image recovery system that enables the recovery of last information from digital cameras and other image capture hardware. Whatever data you have lost and in whatever format there is a very reasonable chance that Handy Recovery will find it for you.

Restoration Capabilities

Finding the files and restoring them, though, are two very different things altogether so can Handy Recovery really cut it? Working on Windows 95 and later, Handy Recovery will restore items that are lost on any format hard drive as well as RAID, Serial ATA, and many other optical and floppy drives. It also displays a rating of how likely it is that the file will be completely recovered. Files with a high likelihood should be completely recovered whereas a lower likelihood means that usually only a portion of the file will be recoverable.

Filtering Recoverable Files With Handy Recovery

The ability to filter all found files gives you the power to determine exactly which of the files is the one you are looking for. It also means that you can restore any file that was created during a certain time period or with a file name that contains certain strings. If you’ve lost data then Handy Recovery will almost certainly be able to find it again for you.
