Dealing with Pet Hair
Anyone owning pets knows what a problem removing cat and dog hair from carpeting and clothing can be. Use the following methods for easy removal:
1. After vacuuming, use a barely dampened sponge mop on low pile rugs. Pick up pet hair from upholstered furniture with a regular clean kitchen sponge. Using this method rolls the hair up into balls that can easily be removed.
2. Try using a rubber glove to remove pet hair from furniture. Use a long handled rubber squeegee to remove hair from carpeting.
3. Use a cheap lint brush from the dollar store to remove pet hair from clothing. Many of these brushes has an arrow which points in the direction of use. Simply rub the brush in the opposite direction on a piece of throw away fabric to remove the hair from the brush.
4. Consider the purchase of the Dyson DC14 Animal vacuum cleaner. Although fairly expensive at around $500, it will pick up pet hair from any surface, and comes with a lot of good attachments, as well.
Caring for and cleaning up after your pet does not need to be a daunting task. Always remember, though, that a cat or dog has a sense of smell that is 10 times greater than humans. The pet will return to the same spot if the odor is not eliminated. Doing the job right in the first place will eliminate a lot of headaches, and make your co-existence with your pets more enjoyable.
