Deer Repellent that Repels Other Pests as Well

by DoItYourself Staff

Deer may be sweet woodland animals but in your garden they are annoying, destructive pests. It is easier to keep them out in the first place than to get them to stay away once they have already invaded, so practicing some control measures is the best way to keep your property safe, as well as protect it from other pests.

Sound Repellant

There are many sound machines that scare away deer and birds that can be very effective. For a less expensive version, you can use a string with empty aluminum pie plates or roasting pans tied to it and strung across fence posts. The intermittent noise created by the banging of these pans will effectively drive away

Smell Repellant

Check out the many products on the market to repel deer that also repel other smaller wildlife like rabbits and gophers. Also having a dog on your property can work to repel deer and many other animals with both their smell and their activity. There are several natural remedies like coyote urine distributed around your property that will frighten off deer and other wildlife.

Taste Repellant

There are some natural sprays that can be placed on your plants that will make them very unappetizing to any pests that come in contact with them. This natural remedy will deter deer from eating your plants without harming them. Mix the ingreditent below and spray it on your plants.
