Designing a Room with a Stucco Ceiling
A stucco ceiling is a common use of stucco on the interior of a home. While most commonly known for being used an exterior siding, stucco can also come inside and be used for a very durable and versatile ceiling and wall covering.
Interior Stucco
Interior stucco is a very versatile and hard form of plaster that can be troweled, or sprayed on, for different creative designs. It can also be painted any color and looks great when finished. A room designed for a stucco ceiling, however, can also be a creative environment.
Stucco Ceiling
There are many different ways to use stucco on the ceiling. Two of the most popular is in the form of a sprayed on "popcorn" ceiling, and a troweled on surface that can be used in a recessed ceiling for more elegance.
To design a room around a stucco ceiling would have to take those two things into account. From a design aspect you would ask yourself:
- What is the room for?
- Is it a bedroom or public area?
- Is it for formal use or generalities?
- What is the size of the room?
Once you know the answers to those questions then you can choose the right stucco ceiling for your design.
