It is now mid-summer and where are those washboards abs u promised you would have by now? It is not too late to get on track, the following tips provide a guideline to increase your metabolism, eating and excercise.

First and foremost, the first way to helping yourself is through your attitude. Once you have made a decision to lose weight, you should make that commitment and go into it with a positive attitude. We all know that losing weight can be quite a challenge. It takes time, practice and support to change lifetime habits. Make sure to stay positive and eager about losing weight and being healthy, having a work-out buddy or journaling your weight loss and excercise goals are great ways to keep yourself committed.

Losing weight is not just about dieting, but regards responsible eating habits, understanding the combinations of food that you can eat, and obviously excericise is an essential factor. Excercise experts now believe that regular exercise along with the proper amount of rest may actually add years to the life span.

Metabolism is a key factor to losing weight and there are several ways to increase your metabolism rate. Make sure to always eat a healthy breakfast. When skipping breakfast, your metabolism slows down as a protective mechanism. Eat earlier in the day, you should try to have your last meal atleast 4 hours before you go to bed. Do not eat less than 1200 calories a day, any less is usually not enough to support your basal metabolism and thus will slow your metabolism. Snacking often also helps because it prevents you from becoming too hungry for larger meals.

Doing some type of aerobic exercise (walking, jogging,aerobic dancing, etc.) on a daily basis (preferably in the morning) also speeds your metabolism, even if it is for a short period of time but be consisent with it. Engaging in weight training also helps, tone your muscles with weight training three days per week. Use every-day activities as a way to excercise, park your car far away from the store so you can sneak in a brisk walk or use the stairs instead of an elevator. Avoid alcohol, Alcohol depresses your metabolism and stimulates your appetite. Rather drink plenty of water, water has so many essential benefits for us. Doctor recommend 10 eight-glass servings per day!

Weight loss is not easy or fast, but with proper diet and excercise, it is attainable and very much plausible. Start today and begin the journey to a better and healthier lifestyle.
