Does a pea gravel or crushed gravel driveway cost more?

by DoItYourself Staff

Crushed gravel and pea gravel are 2 common choices for landscaping, especially for those who desire a rustic look. Pea gravel generally costs more than crushed gravel because it is available in a wide variety of materials, shapes and colors. Plain black or uncolored pea gravel can cost from $20 to $35 per ton, whereas decorative pea gravel can cost as much as $85 per ton and sometimes more. Crushed gravel is often available for as low as $10 per ton. With both materials, the cost of transportation and delivery will also have an impact on the final price.
