Does a wooden porch or a concrete porch last longer?

by DoItYourself Staff

Many homes in America, and all over the world, have porches built to suit their relaxation needs, such as concrete porches and wood porches. Looking at which one has a longer life span than the other, concrete decks last longer. This is because, if these porches are well built, they can last up to 50 years, without being repaired. Wooden decks, however, can only survive for up to 10 years, without needing repair. This also depends on the location and climate. Therefore, apart from concrete porches taking longer before any repair is needed, they are also easier to build. This makes them a better option compared to wood.
