Does Window Tinting for Cars Reduce the Change of Breaking the Glass Window?

by DoItYourself Staff

Window tinting for cars can provide a number of benefits, but it will not reduce the chances of breaking the glass. If your glass does break, however, the tint on the window will significantly reduce the chances of shattering and falling shards. The glass will often still stay attached to the window tinting film even after it breaks. However, tint does not actually add any dimensional stability to the window. This is simply a layer that is used on the inside of the glass. If something hits the glass from the outside, it will still be just as likely to break.
