Knobless Deadbolt
If any of those situations apply, you'll want to have a deadbolt in addition to the lock on your door for added security. The best type of deadbolt to use is what's known as a knobless deadbolt.
With glass panels, if someone breaks the glass and you have a standard deadbolt, they need only reach inside to turn the knob and open the door. With a knobless deadbolt, they still won't be able to open the door because it requires a key to be used on the inside to open the door, as well as the outside.
The knobless deadbolt offers excellent door knob security, but the main drawback is that you need to use a key to get out of the house every time, even in an emergency situation, as long as you have the deadbolt locked. This problem can be eliminated by keeping a key hanging near the door at all times, but not so close that someone could reach in from the outside to get the key.
