Doorbell Wiring Instructions

Installing a new doorbell is not going to be a tough project as long as you have an understanding of the doorbell wiring. The wiring system that is used here is very simple and the same in just about each and every home which makes installing a new doorbell fairly easy.

Methods of Wiring
There are a few different methods of wiring that you may look into. Depending on where you want your new doorbell and where you need to hear it. Most people have transformers in their homes that connect to the chimes of the doorbell. You can use the transformer as your power supply, which may or may not work depending on the voltage.

Doorbell Wiring Buttons
There needs to be some sort of wiring so that the doorbell button can communicate with the chimes. There are wires within your doorframe that you will see when you take off your doorbell.  

How it is all Connected
When you press your doorbell, you will not be able to see it, but there is current that runs through one unbroken wire from the bell, through the transformer, as well as the chime.
