Door Locks- Installing a Deadbolt

Door Locks - Installing Deadbolt

Knob Lock - Deadbolt - Replacing Locks

Installation of a deadbolt lock is essentially the same as the previously described installation of the Key-in-Knob lock, until Step 10 where you begin to install the strikeplate into the door jam.

The deadbolt lock comes with an additional strike frame reinforcer.

Manufacturer's instructions will tell you how deep to drill and chisel the hole for the strikeplate assembly. Then simply install the strike frame reinforcer prior to inserting the box. As always, secure them with 3 inch screws for added strength.
