Dressing Up Your Basic Wire Closet

Wire closet organizers are a popular choice for closets.  Wire closets are a convenient way in which to separate different types of clothing and organize various accessories.

Organizer Elements

Wire closet framing usually consists of several different elements. You can use basic graph paper to draw out the different elements you want to integrate into your closet design.  Shelving usually comes in standard measurements of 12 inch and 16 inch widths.

Installing

Once you have purchased all of your wire closet elements, then you will need to install it. In many cases, all you will need is a power drill or power screwdriver, a measuring tap and a level. If you purchased an entire closet organizer system, then it should come with complete instructions for installation.

As you install your hanging bar, shelving and other elements, make sure that you double check for plumb and level before permanently securing each item to the wall. Also, it is a good idea to use a stud finder to serve as a guide for the strongest places to install items that will have heavy clothing hanging.
