Doors are often fixed in body shops by using an auto body filler. This filler fills in the actual dent, but requires that you re-paint the door. This can completely hide the ding or dent in the steel garage door.

Another way to fix a ding or dent in a steel garage door is to use the simple tool that is used in auto shops. Suction cups secure to the door, and pull dents out of the door. This may be harder to do with certain types of steel garage doors.
