Fridge Lock Installation and Usage

by DoItYourself Staff

A fridge lock can be used for a variety of reasons. In the home, it can keep the kids from snacking between meals or getting into hazardous food and drinks. These locks are also used on refrigerators that store medicines and prescription drugs. Installing a fridge lock is a simple safety device and requires no tools in most cases.

Installing a Child Safety Fridge Lock

A fridge lock usually comes with an adhesive backing for easy installation.  Simply place the front of the lock on the fridge out of your children's reach and hold it in place until the adhesive is firmly set.

Line up the second part of the lock so that it is at the same height as the first piece and check the position to be sure that the lock will not be too loose when it is engaged.  Hold it in place firmly for about thirty seconds.

This simple child fridge lock can be engaged whenever you close your refrigerator door.
