Give Your Bathroom Cabinet Mirror Another Look

by DoItYourself Staff

While your bathroom cabinet mirror is a fixed feature as long as you keep your cabinet, you can do a few little remodeling tricks that will change the look of the mirror without replacing the entire cabinet.

Replace or Add Lighting
One thing you can do to update the look of your bathroom cabinet mirror is install new lighting. These mirrors particularly benefit from lights along the side of the cabinet, more than lights above. Side lighting can add elegance and width to the cabinet mirror without much trouble.

Change the Shape
If you can find the right size of replacement mirror, changing the shape of the bathroom cabinet mirror can also change the entire look of the room without having to remove the entire cabinet and have a major remodel job.

Borders and Framing

If you have a large enough mirror, you can use a mitre cut on some decorative molding and create a frame for the mirror. This changes the entire look of the room and the design without a major remodel.

The molding can be glued with a squeeze adhesive. Glue it directly to the mirror with a caulk gun and liquid nails or a similar adhesive that is recommended for mirrors.
