Going Green: How to Remove Chlorine Buildup from a Pool Shower

A pool shower is an essential part of having a pool, but it can become dirty with chlorine buildup. Here are a few green products that will remove the chlorine stains and smells from your outdoor shower. 

 Step 1 - Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a natural acid that can remove the chlorine buildup from your pool shower and keep it smelling great. Mix lemon juice with warm water, adding as much lemon juice as you need to, and scrub your shower. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing. 

Step 2 - Baking Soda

If you need more cleaning power then turn to baking soda. You can either mix with water and then scrub, or you can sprinkle the baking soda directly onto a damp sponge before cleaning. 

Step 3 - White Wine Vinegar

White wine vinegar is a natural acid that can cut through anything on your pool shower. You can add white wine vinegar to step 2 if you need a stronger cleaning product. 

Step 4 - Chlorine Filters

After cleaning, fit your pool shower with a chlorine filter. They are easy to install and will eliminate extra chlorine from contact with not only your pool shower but your hair and skin too.
