Listerine mouthwash contains alcohol and works on mildew. Fill a spray bottle with original Listerine and spray it on your shower curtain liner. Let it sit for 1/2 hour and rinse with hot water.
Step 2 - Machine Wash
For tougher mildew stains, place your shower curtain liner in the washing machine with cold water and 2 or 3 towels for friction. Add 1/2 cup detergent and 1/2 cup baking soda to the wash cycle. Add 1/2 cup white vinegar to the rinse cycle and hang to dry.
Step 3 - Hand Wash
Tough mildew stains may require some elbow grease. Spread your shower curtain liner out on a flat surface and spray with white vinegar. Wear gloves to dip a sponge in Borax and scrub off mildew, adding vinegar as needed. Rinse with clear water.
Don't throw away your mildewed shower curtain liner, clean it the green way.
