Green Construction
Green construction is a rising form of construction practice, in which the environmental considerations concerning building materials, the structure itself, the surrounding landscape and the efficiency in the energy needed to supply the structure are all positioned at the forefront, in the planning and implementation of the construction process.
Planning in Green Construction
Planning is the most important element in green construction. Planning can identify construction materials that can be salvaged and reused as the project goes along, or else disposed of, in an environmentally friendly manner. In implementing these measures, it is beneficial to bring together sub-contractors in the planning, since their expertise can be useful in creating new methods in the implementation of green construction.
Wherever possible, recycled materials are used in green construction. The overall plan in any green construction project would include issues of lighting, heating and cooling efficiency, water waste efficiency, passive heating, possibilities of using solar or wind in powering the finished building, if applicable, and how the construction footprint affects the surrounding environment.
