All you need to Grill Steaks is a few choice pieces of meat, and a hot grill. This is a great meal for a beginner to learn as it requires little skill, and very little preparation. Impress all of your friends and family with nice, juicy grilled steaks on a hot summer afternoon.
• Find steaks that are 1”-1 ½” thick. These will cook the best on the grill. Also look for steaks that have thin strips of fat in the middle they will melt and keep the steak from drying out.
• Before you grill steaks, it’s important to let them settle to room temperature. Pick out a few seasonings like garlic salt or cracked pepper to flavor them.
• You want to grill each side for 2 minutes plus an extra minute for every ½ inch of thickness of the steak. That means if you grill steaks that are 1 ½ inches thick it should be grilled for 5 minutes.
Tips for Grilling Steaks
There are two main things to remember when you grill steaks.
• Let the steak rest for five minutes before you eat it. This allows for the juices to seep throughout the meat.
• Use a piece of steak fat and a pair of tongs to help oil the grill.
