Shaping
Whenever you are growing a bonsai, you will find that there are a few things that you can do to make sure that it is able to remain beautiful throughout its lifetime. The most important thing is to make sure that shaping is done very early on. This is something that you will need to do with copper wire. Make sure that the wire is not digging into the tree as this will create scarring that will never go away. Bonsai trees are very sensitive whenever they are young. Take care of them by shaping them safely and correctly. It can take a bonsai tree 5 years to mature but 7 years to fully train.
Care
Whenever you are growing a bonsai tree, make sure that the roots never have too much water. There is a specific type of soil that you should use for your bonsai tree. This will allow it to dry out as much as it needs to. Small and frequent watering is necessary with a bonsai. Over or under watering can cause excess stress and stung the growth of the tree and eventually kill it. A bonsai enjoys humidity and you should allow it as much as possible.
Grooming Tips
When it comes time to groom your bonsai, there are a few tips that you should keep in mind. One of them is to make sure that you never trim too much of the foliage of the bonsai before you begin to repot it. You should also make sure that you prune the bonsai thoroughly as this will allow for new growth and will enhance the foliage. It will also make your pictures look fantastic. Keep an eye out for any dead leaves or brown growth so that you can continue to help your bonsai to grow.
Trimming
Before the photo shoot, you should have a vision of what exactly you want the bonsai to look like. Think of the shape that you want it to be and what look you want it to have. If there is something that you are trying to portray in the photo, make sure that the way that your trim your bonsai will allow you to do this. Trim accordingly to your vision but make sure that you do so in a healthy way to your bonsai. If you do not want to trim in a way that may be unhealthy, then play around with the lighting until you are able to get the look that you have envisioned.
