Home Fire Alarm Systems
Having fire alarm systems installed in your home can end up not only saving your life, but protecting many of your valuables as well. A smoke detector will alert you of an issue, but a fire alarm system will also alert authorities and dispatch the fire department, paramedics and police. Here are a few things you should know about home fire alarm systems.
All around Security Systems
If you already have a security system in place, chances are the company that manages it will also have an upgrade available to add the fire alarm system. This will work by using a special smoke and fire detector that hooks in to the monitoring system already in place in your home. When a signal is sent that smoke or fire is detected, the security company will advise you, as well as dispatch the appropriate authorities.
Additional Signals
Not only will a home fire alarm system notify you and the authorities, but you can set up lights, buzzers, and other methods of notification throughout your home. This is much different than a standard smoke alarm, which only generates a noise where the alarm is located. This can be the different between getting the family out of the house during an emergency or not.
