Usually, the owner's manual will give you an indication of the carrying capacity of a vinyl fence. The carrying capacity is the weight a vinyl fence can hold. With today's resins,  vinyl fences can be built to the standards established by wood fences or, if the mix is made tough enough, the fence can bear the same weight as a metal fence. In some instances, the fence's carrying capacity can be enhanced by the construction of major fence support pieces, as well as the end pieces of the fence. Be sure to check with the  manufacturer for information on a fence's capacity.
