How can I remove wallpaper glue that was left after removing the wallpaper border?

by DoItYourself Staff

Removing wallpaper glue from your walls is a necessary step after taking down your old wall paper. Removing this glue is messy, and takes a long time, but it’s easy to do. The best way to tackle it is to work on a small area at a time. Covering the floor with towels to avoid slipping, fill a bucket with hot water, that you can easily touch without scalding yourself. Add detergent to this water, as the soap helps loosen up the glue. Scrub the walls using a sponge or brush (for persistent glue), then rinse the wall with fresh water and a piece of cloth.
