How often should I clean my stone fireplace?

Cleaning your stone fireplace is only for aesthetic purposes, and will not do anything to the efficiency of your fireplace. Therefore it is completely your decision as to how often you clean the fireplace, based on how clean you like things to be. Some people will do it monthly, to make sure the fireplace is constantly clean. Meanwhile others will leave it as a spring cleaning job, since the fireplace is generally only used in the winter months. Over the summer, it will stay clean other than a bit of dust, and cleaning it during the winter can be seen as pointless, as it will often get dirty again straight away.
