For example, using citrus-based products to repel termites, is safe for everyone in the house. But setting termite traps and placing termite exterminating powder can be dangerous, if these items are ingested. Make sure you keep your pets and small children away from the areas you have treated for termites. If your pet ingests one of your termite chemicals, contact your vet immediately. If your child ingests a chemical, grab the chemical container for reference, and find emergency medical attention immediately.
