How should I choose faux wall paint?

by DoItYourself Staff

Before choosing a faux wall paint, you need to decide on the finish. There is a huge range of popular finishes on the market, including parchment, leather, brick and suede, to name just a few. The beauty of DIY faux wall paint is that you can create your own textures and finishes, as well. When it comes to choosing wall paint, take a swatch of the material that you are trying to recreate. If you want a leather faux wall, then take a leather cushion with you, just as you would if you were trying to work out good paintwork-wallpaper combinations. Finally, try and stick with the same hue. Paint sample strips will help you achieve this.
