A bamboo water fountain is a lovely indoor feature. These fountains are used for many things, as they are a decorative piece but can also get rid of negative energy in a room. These fountains are elegant, and the sound of water running is actually a great way to relieve stress. These tabletop fountains are a great way to add ambiance to a room.

Step 1. The Spout

The spout of the fountain will be made out of a large piece of bamboo. Cut a piece of bamboo that is the height of your chosen container. You will also need another piece of bamboo that is about 2/3 the length of that first piece and narrower in width. Make sure one side of the piece is cut at an angle. You then need a piece of plastic tubing that is an inch longer than both of the already cut bamboo pieces.

Step 2. More Spout Construction

You will need to drill a hole in the spout piece that is slightly wider than the other narrower piece of bamboo. This is necessary so you can insert the narrower piece into the spout.  You will need 2 more pieces of narrow bamboo that are about 2 inches longer than your container. Take the 2 pieces you just cut and put the spout piece about 5 inches from the end in between these pieces.

Step 3. Keep it in Place

To keep the assembled bamboo pieces in place, you want to tie them together using raffia. Once the pieces are tied together, then you can place them into your chosen container. If you feel that the pieces are too long, you can trim the bamboo ends.

Step 4. The Tubing

You will need to remove the spout piece in order to attach the plastic tubing. Push this through the bottom of the spout piece. Once it reaches the top, you need to attach the bottom end of an elbow adaptor. Attach both ends to the elbow adaptor. Once this is attached, push the narrow tubing into the narrower piece of bamboo that goes into the spout piece.

Step 5. Secure the Tubing

You want to be very careful when sliding the narrow piece into the spout piece. Insert it into the hole that you made and using a hot glue gun, glue it into place. You can trim any tubing that may come out of the end of the narrow bamboo piece. If the raffia ties have loosened, you can retie them.

Step 6. The Pump

Attach the tubing to the pump and place the pump into the container. In order to fill up the space in the bottom of the container, you can fill it with a piece of Styrofoam and flat stones. Pile decorative stones around the pump to hide it, but make sure you do not block the intake filters.

Step 7. Finishing Touches

Add the water to your fountain and add some additional decorative pieces. You can add marble pieces to get more water cascading down your fountain.
