How to Change Wiper Blades
Changing your wiper blades is an essential part of car maintenance. Having inadequate wiper blades are unsafe. You could be putting yourself in danger of having an accident if your windows are unclean due to falling snow, rain and debris. Therefore, learning how to change your wiper blades is important to know.
Wiper Blade Installation
- Visit your local auto supply store and purchase a pair of wiper blades that are compatible with your vehicle
- Open the package and separate the blades. There should be two blades, a short one and a long one.
- On your car, lift the wiper blade arm up. Pay careful attention to the arm that has the smaller blade vs. the larger blade. Remove the old wiper blade by unlatching the clasp and sliding it off. Repeat this step with both wiper arms.
- Attach the new wipers to the bare arm. Slide the wiper on until the clasp snaps into place. Repeat this step with the other wiper.
- Give the wiper a gentle tug to assure that it is properly installed. If the blade feels loose, then repeat step 3. If the wiper is secure, then gently lower the wiper arms unto the front of the car window.
