Your dishwasher door may make noises or squeak whenever you open the dishwasher. When this happens you need to check the hinges in order to determine if they are worn and in need of replacement. The process for checking the hinges on your dishwasher can be done simply and easily by opening the door repeatedly in order to listen for the sound of squeaking and creaking.
Step 1: Pull Open the Dishwasher Door
Open the door to your dishwasher slowly and pull it up and down carefully. While performing this task several times, listen to the dishwasher door to hear if the door hinges are making a noise. This noise will be a squeaking or creaking sound that indicates that the hinges are rusty or possible misaligned
Step 2: Fix the Hinges
If the hinges are making a creaking sound or if the dishwasher door feels look, use a screwdriver to remove the door in order to locate the hinge. Tighten the hinge and spray some lubricant or 3-in-1 oil on the hinge before placing it back on the dishwasher.
