How to Chop Ice for Drinks in a Blender

A blender is a great tool to use at a party for mixing drinks. You can use the blender to mix flavors, make smoothies, and even to chop or puree ice.

To Chop Ice

Make sure that your blender is turned to the ice or chop setting. Trying to chop ice on another setting can cause your blender to break or malfunction. Make sure that you put individual ice cubes into the blender and not chunks. Look in your users manual to see how many ice cubes your blender can chop at a time, but most will only allow you to chop 8-10 ice cubes at a time. Once the ice cubes are in your blender and the lid of the blender is on securely, press the blend button and let the ice cubes blend, adjusting the ice in the unit from time to time to make sure everything is chopped evenly.

To Puree Ice

If you want to puree your ice cubes, you should first chop them and then switch the blender to the puree setting. Place your chopped ice cubes into the blender and let them puree for smoothie-like drinks.
