How to Clean a Steam Vaporizer
A steam vaporizer will greatly help prevent the air in your home from becoming too dry. Most commonly used in the winter months, these devices emit steam vapor to keep the air moist, preventing you from drying out. This short guide will describe the very easy process of cleaning a steamed vaporizer so that you continue to get as much steam from it as the day you bought it.
Pre-Cleaning
Unplug your vaporizer and place it in a sink before removing the top and adding a few inches of hot water. Let this sit for a while before emptying it and refilling it with hot water again.
Cleaning
Put a bit of dish soap in it. All you need is five or six drops, putting too much will cause it to bubble up, making the process more difficult. After this is completed, scrub the inside of the tank twice. Make sure you get all hard-to-reach crevices, as well. Rinse out your vaporizer thoroughly.
Post-Cleaning
Add the normal amount of water to it with about 1/8th tsp. of salt. Use the vaporizer like you normally would until the tank needs changing. After this process, re-clean it to ensure no salt is left behind.
