Step 1 - Remove the Valve
You will need to make sure that all of your electrical and water supplies are turned off before you open the washing machine. You should then open the top panel on your machine, which will allow you access to the valve. Take the connections off of the valve using a pair of pliers, Unscrew the valve from its position.
Step 2 - Clean the Valve
Once you have removed the valve from its position, place it into a bowl of soapy water. Using a toothbrush, scrub the inside and outside of the valve until it is clean. You can leave the valve in water overnight if it is very dirty. Once it is cleaned, shake dry, and leave on your side, on a paper towel, until it is completely dry.
