A knotty pine paneling is a popular wall covering choice among homeowners due to its rustic, cozy feel. However, the knotty pine paneling can become dull over time. You need to clean it to restore its cleanliness and sheen. While the cleaning process is easy it will require a bit of your time. Follow the simple step-by-step instructions below to clean the knotty pine paneling.
Step 1 – Remove Furniture
Remove any furniture or obstructions away from the wall you want to clean. You will need to place a step ladder to reach the top of the wall.
Step 2 – Wear Gloves
Wear gloves to protect your hands and ward off the smell of the cleaner.
Step 3 – Spray the Wood Cleaner
Start from the top corner of the wall to allow any water drips to run down the knotty pine paneling wall. Spray the wood cleaner onto the wall, or you may pour a little amount of wood cleaner onto the rag.
Step 4 – Remove Fingerprints
Wipe the wall with the rag from the top to the bottom. Concentrate on one section of the wall before proceeding to the next section. Concentrate and rub on the areas where there are fingerprints longer. When you have finished wiping a section of the wall, proceed to the next section until the entire wall has been wiped.
Step 5 – Finish
After you have finished wiping the wall, wipe away any excess wood cleaner with another rag. Then, wipe the wall again with wood oil soap and cloth.
