How to Clean Light Diffuser Panels
what you'll need
- Small Fan
- Water
- Mild Detergent
- Bucket
Light diffuser panels are mostly used in photography to help soften the light and keep harsh shadows out of the picture. However, they are also used in different settings like doctor's offices, home workshops, or spas. After several hours of use, light diffuser panels will need to be cleaned. Here are some steps to follow in cleaning.
Step 1 - Shake Out Excess Dust
Since a light diffuser panel is nothing more than a simple nylon panel, it can catch dust and other debris very easily. Before cleaning it out, give the panel a simple shake to remove some of the dust particles.
Step 2 - Blow Out Particles
Set up a small fan and turn it on low. Hold the light diffuser panel next to it and let the air from the fan blow through the mesh on the panel. This simple cleaning procedure will remove some of the dust that is sticking to the nylon. After a few minutes, you can turn the fan up to the next setting if the low setting is not removing the dust.
Step 3 - Use Mild Cleaning Solution
For the most part you will only need to use some warm water. Do not scrub the light diffuser panel or you may damage the nylon screen. Set the panel into a mixture of water and mild cleaning solution for a few minutes and then air dry.
