How to Clean Mold off Brick

  • diluted chlorine bleach, or diluted tree tea oil, or distilled white vinegar
  • pair of gloves
  • goggles
  • respirator, or a mask
  • scrubbing pad
  • soap
  • hose pipe
  • water

Moisture and water retention are the major reasons that cause development of mold on brick. Mold produces digestive enzymes that eat the very surface they are attached to. Not only do they cause structural damage, but when they are touched or their spores inhaled, they lead to various health hazards, such as asthma, sinusitis, nausea, inability to focus or a state of confusion, rashes and various other allergies. Thus it is important they be removed the instant it appears on your bricks. You can easily remove the molds off the bricks by following the simple instructions given below.

Step 1 – Take Necessary Precautions

It is advisable that you wear a pair of rubber gloves, respirator (or a mask) and goggles. This should be done because molds can easily lead to health hazards when they are touched or their spores inhaled.
