How to Cook a Porterhouse Steak
A poterhouse seak is a very tender steak and is all the better with a proper side to go with it. This recipe will give you the results desired, to enjoy a very tender steak.
• Start by melting two tablespoons of butter in a pan until the butter foams.
• Follow up by putting 8 oz of sliced mushrooms in the butter. You want to sauté the mushrooms on medium until they give off moisture.
• After most of the moisture has been boiled off you want to add a 14 oz can of beef broth.
• Wait until the broth has been reduced and add two tablespoons of heavy cream. Stir the mixture until it reduces again and then remove from the heat. This completes the topping for the Porterhouse Steak.
Cooking the Porterhouse Steak
• While preheating your grill you want to season the Porterhouse steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
• After seasoning place them on the grill for about two minutes on each side. The goal is to brown both sides of the steak without charring it.
• Finally, cook the steaks on the upper part of a two level grill for appoximatley 7 to 8 minutes or until the internal temperature of the Porterhouse Steaks reaches 130 degrees.
