Storage cubes are great to have in the home. You can put nearly anything you want inside them. One problem you will find with storage cubes is that some do not have back panels. This means that stuff can fall out the back. It is easy to install back panels to storage cubes, and the article that follows will explain how.
Step 1 – Measuring
Remove the storage cubes and measure them. You want to get the length and width including the thickness. Do not measure just the open space.
Step 2 – Cutting the Back Panel
Transfer the measurements to the piece of plywood. Cut out 1 piece for each of the storage cubes you have. Sand down the cut edges to remove burrs.
Step 3 – Installation
Place the storage cubes face down. Remove the tip of the adhesive with the utility knife at a 45 degree angle. Insert it in the caulking gun and apply a thin line around the edges of the cube. Place the back panel on top. Wipe away excess glue. Nail it in place with finishing nails.
