How to Glue a Broken Wooden Table Leg

When you have a broken wooden table leg it is a very easy process to glue it together so it is still strong enough to use. With the use of good woodworker's glue and a metal anchor screw, the wooden table leg will be as good as new. 

Step 1 - Insert Metal Anchor

In order to give the wooden table leg the integrity it had when it was whole you will need to install a double-headed screw anchor. Drill a pilot hole into both section of the table leg in the direct center. Twist it onto the bottom section of the leg until it reach halfway. 

Step 2 - Spread Glue onto Wooden Table Leg

Apply a liberal amount of woodworker's glue onto the table leg and on the inside of the pilot hole. Twist the top portion of the leg onto the bottom part until the meet. Twist the leg until the crack lines up and it looks like one piece again. 

Step 3 - Remove Excess Glue

After you have let the leg dry overnight, take some sandpaper and remove the excess glue. Go over the let with some wood putty if there are any cracks in the leg were it was broke. 

Step 4 - Stain Wooden Table Leg

To finish off the repair apply a coating of stain to the entire leg for a uniform look.
