How to Glue Marble Together
When you need to glue marble together, either a two part Epoxy (Polyepoxide) glue, or Epoxy Cement are appropriate to use for repairs or sticking marble to other surfaces.
Cleaning the Marble
Marble should first be cleaned before gluing. Starting with a clean surface will always result in a better finish. Acetone is best to remove any dirt or oily substances on the surface of the marble. If you don’t have acetone available, detergent can be used to remove dirt or dust.
Epoxy Glue for Marble
Epoxy glue or resin is a quick drying solution for repairing and gluing marble. Epoxy glue comes in two parts which are mixed together before gluing. Follow the provided instructions that come with the glue when mixing the two parts together.
Gluing Marble with Epoxy Grout
Epoxy grout is faster drying than cement grout. Epoxy grout can be color matched to suit your marble and is recommended to use for repairs to marble tiles.
Tips on Gluing Marble with Epoxy
Epoxy touch dries rapidly so work fast. Clean any excess wet glue as soon as possible, as it is virtually impossible to remove once dry. Curing time is between 12 and 24 hours.
Always clamp the marble or place a heavy object on top of the marble to help with the bonding process.
