by DoItYourself Staff

what you'll need

  • File
  • Drill
  • Pen
  • Hacksaw
Your laundry room sink towel bar is something that you can easily make with very little effort. As long as you have the right tools it is a job that you will be able to get it done quickly.
Materials Needed:
File
Drill
Pen
Hacksaw
Step 1 – Check Length
The first thing that you will need to do is get the length measured against the sink with your towel bar. Cut your towel bar down to size if needed using the file.
Step 2 – Mounting Brackets
Get your mounting brackets positioned up against the side of your sink where the towel bar will go. Mark the area where the holes are going with your pen. The holes should be on the sink’s rim where it is thick.
Step 3 – Drill
You will then drill the holes, the screws needed should have come with your towel bar. If not, then 3/6 inch machine screws that are stainless steel are needed. The length of the screw should leave ¼ of an inch sticking into your sink. Make sure that you put an acorn nut on the ends of each of your screws to finish up. Once you have done this you are finished.
