How to Install a LCD Wall Mount on a Concrete Wall

by DoItYourself Staff

It can be complicated to install a LCD wall mount on a concrete wall. While it may be best to hire a professional for this project, you can also follow these steps.

Buy Suitable Concrete Fasteners

Buy concrete screws from your local hardware store; there are a variety of concrete anchors and screws to choose from, specially made for attaching heavy objects to cement walls. Ask the salesperson if you have difficulty choosing the right one for your type of concrete wall. The diameter of the anchor, depth of embedment and the quality of the concrete will affect the holding value.

Mark the Anchor Points

Mark the location of each anchor point on the wall. Drill a hole at each point with a hammer drill, using a masonry bit. Insert the concrete fasteners or anchors. Blow out any masonry dust and make sure the fastener fits properly into the hole.

Hang the Screen

Position the mount and tighten all the nuts, or drive in the screws with a standard drill, making sure the mount is secure. Test the strength of the mount to make sure it is strong before finally hanging the screen. Carefully hang the flatscreen. Make sure any safety tabs are in place.

While installing, make sure you use safety equipment, like goggles, and use tools carefully.
