Install a wireless home security camera as a precautions to keep you, your family and your possessions safe. Below are some helpful tips about where to install cameras and how to safely and effectively mount them to your home.
Step 1 – Location Angle and Placement
Choose the right location for your security cameras before you even buy them. Pick a a spot where nothign will obstruct the view of your camera to ensure that your investment completely worth your time and money.
Once you have chosen the right location, you decide what angle will best suit your camera. Decide how high off the ground you want the camera to be. You may want your camera to be clearly visible or not easily noticed. Decide how much of your landscape you want your camera to capture, whether it be just the front door or the entire yard. Consider buying several cameras for fuller coverage or to install on various entry points.
Step 2 – Applying the Mounting Bracket
Begin by holding up the mounting bracket to your desired location. Use a pencil to mark the area where the screws need to go. If the screws need to be in a stud, then it is best to use a stud finder. Otherwise, use a drywall anchor bolt to hold your mounting bracket in place. The drill bit that you use needs to be a little bit smaller than the screw that you use to mount your bracket.
Hold the mounting bracket into place while you put the screws in pre-drilled holes, or use the drywall anchor bolt.
Step 3 – Inserting Your Security Camera
Be sure that your mounting bracket is securely installed into the wall before you place your camera into it. From there, you will insert your batteries and read the instructions that come along with your camera on how to properly synchronize your camera to your base station.
