An under counter wine cooler can be a convenient and effective way to store wine, especially when you have a limited amount of space. It will ensure that your bottles of wine are always at their optimal serving temperature. These steps will help you install the cooler correctly.

Step 1 – Scout Location

The first step is to decide on where you want to place the under counter wine counter. In addition to ensuring that it will be convenient for when you need to access it, you must also ensure that the cooler will fit. There should be enough space around it to enable you to open the door. Use a tape measure to find the length, width and depth of the relevant area and note down the results. Keep this with you during the purchase process to ensure that you get a cooler of an appropriate size. Make sure that the surface is level and stable enough to bear the weight of the cooler and the contents. Avoid putting it too close to anything that generates heat, which can interfere with the temperature of the cooler.

Step 2 – Prepare

Once you have purchased the right type of under counter wine cooler to fit your needs, you will need to prepare it for use. Remove any packaging both from inside and outside the appliance. You may find that some surfaces are covered by a protective film that can be peeled off before use. You may want to clean the cooler before using it to remove any particles or debris that may have settled while it was in storage. Use a soft cloth and a non-toxic and non-abrasive cleaning solution to complete this process. This can be undertaken with diluted lemon juice or white vinegar. Check the temperature of the room in which you want to install the under counter wine cooler in accordance with the recommendations in the manual. You will find that the cooler will work best when in a room where the temperature is below 75 degrees F.

Step 3 – Install

Carefully position the under counter wine cooler, making sure that you hold the cable out of the way so that it does not get trapped beneath the appliance. Test it before settling on a location to ensure that you can open the door of the cooler properly. Lay the power cable along a wall so that they do not form a tripping hazard. Make sure that the cooler is properly aligned and not resting on anything that shouldn’t be there. Plug it in and switch it on before proceeding to use it.

Step 4 – Use

Adjust the shelves in the under counter wine cooler as per your desire. Do not insert more bottles that the cooler can handle. Make sure that the door can always close properly. Maintain the cooler by cleaning it on a regular basis.
