How to Install Automated Home Theater Curtains
what you'll need
- Automated curtain product package
- Screwdriver
- Marker
- Hand drill
Home theater curtains are a must have for any entertainment system. Most people like to refer to home theater curtains as draperies. Some feel that the term is more apt as the fabrics used for these curtains are thicker. They can completely provide a full coverage for the home entertainment system. There are two setups or options when using home theater curtains: one or two-way draw or a line. In any case, the main goal of using home theater curtains is still the same: to provide complete darkness.
People also have the option of choosing between “manual” home theater curtains or automated. Recently, the more convenient option is the automated edition. Since automated curtains can be controlled easily, it requires less work from anyone. The following instructions provide a step by step guide on how to install automated curtains.
Curtain Assembly
Step 1: Join the Rails
Rails may be joined with the use of the track linkers. Track linkers should be included in the automated curtain package. The rails should be properly attached together. A flat-head screwdriver may be used to secure the attachment.
Step 2: Cut the Straps
The rails’ total length should be measured. Normally the total length of the strap is the number of rails multiplied by the total length with an additional 190 mm. Cut the straps before proceeding.
Step 3: Assembly
One of the pulleys should be connected to the center of the strap that was cut. Fasten the pulley securely using a flat-head screwdriver. Make sure that all screws and links are fastened firmly.
Step 4: Second Part of the Assembly
The strap should be inserted in the driving wheel.
Step 5: Connecting the Pulley System
The plastic clip that is located near the center of the second pulley should be removed. The two runner blocks should be disconnected from the pulley. This can be done by pushing the blocks together.
Step 6: Second Part of Connecting the Pulley System
One of the runner blocks should be connected to the edge of the strap.
Step 7: Fixing the Pulley System
Both ends of the strap should be inserted into the rail. One end of the strap should be inserted into the driving wheel. The final runner block should then be attached.
Step 8: Attach the Blocks and Hooks
The hooks of the curtain should be installed to both sides of the rail. Check the number of hooks that is required.
Step 9: Last Touches to the System
The end caps for each component attached should be placed. The straps should be attached together. The remaining pulley can now be connected to the two runner blocks.
Step 10: Attach the Motor
The motor can be installed to the rail. The commended angle for the motor is 90 degree with reference to the rail. Secure the motor in place and screw in necessary parts.
Step 11: Attach the Rails and Curtains
Attach the rails to the walls and then place the curtains after. The system can be tested using the remote control that comes with the package. Follow the instructions on how to operate the curtains. Automate home theater curtains have their respective manuals for reference.
