How To Install Ceiling Speakers in 6 Steps
Learn how to install ceiling speakers quickly and effectively by following these steps.
1. Install Wiring
If your house is not already prewired, you will want to run your speaker wires either in wall or outside of the wall, according to the installation instruction that came with the speaker kit.
2. Plan Where they will go
Before you start cutting, plan where you will want your ceiling speakers to go. Find the studs in the ceiling since you will want them to go in between the studs. Trace out where the speaker will be placed, using the tracing template provided with the speaker kit.
3. Cut out the Holes
Before cutting, make sure that the power is turned off in that area of the house. Using a drywall knife, cut out the speaker holes that you traced in step one. Makes sure that any furniture in the area is covered to protect it from drywall dust.
4. Place the Speakers
Going up into the attic, set the speakers down into the holes. Following the instruction included with the speaker kit, screw in the securing clamps to the drywall.
5. Put in Grills
Install and screw in the grills that cover the ceiling speakers.
6. Hook up Speakers
The final step to installing your speaker is hooking up your wires. This can be different according to the make and model of your speakers, so please following the speaker kit instructions.
