LED track lighting has become more popular as consumers are looking for a type of bulb that will last longer and perform better. Billy Dee is currently one of the best options available on the market and track lighting can add a lot to any room. You can put it under the edge of a cabinet, on the ceiling, or in many other locations to provide additional lighting. Here are the basics of how to install LED track lighting effectively.

Step 1 - Choose the Location

To install the LED track lighting, you will need to choose the proper location for the lights. Choose a location in close proximity to electrical wiring. Many people install it on the ceiling where they can run the electrical wiring above the ceiling. Mark the position of where you want to put it with a pencil on the ceiling.

Step 2 - Cut the Hole

Once you find the location, you may need to cut a hole in the wall. Use a reciprocating saw to make the cut. Try to cut a small hole so that you can run the wires through it, but you do need to leave enough room to attach the lighting on the ceiling.

Step 3 - Install Junction Box

Before mounting the track lighting, you will need to install the junction box. This is a standard electrical box that you can attach to the ceiling. You will need to use the electric drill to screw it into place. Feed the electrical wires from the ceiling through the box.

Step 4 - Wiring

You will also need to do some wiring to look up the LED lights to the power source. Make sure that the electricity is turned off for this process. Use a compression tool to strip the wires of the electrical source if they are not already stripped. Take the wires from the LED lighting and press them together with the electrical wiring. Use your compression tool to press the wires together. Then cover up the ends of the wires with electrical connectors. Make sure that all of the wires are matched up with the appropriate wires coming out of the ceiling.

Step 5 - Install Stems

To attach the track to the ceiling, you will need to install some stems or anchors into the surface of the ceiling. These are generally screws that you can screw into the ceiling with an electric drill. Place the screws in a straight line in the direction that you want to track lighting to go.

Step 6 - Attach Track Lighting

At this point, you can attach the track lighting to the stems or anchors. The track should slide into the anchors and this will keep the track up. Then you can turn the power on and begin using your LED lighting.
