- Viscose shirt
- Clean, cotton cloth
Knowing how to iron viscose shirts will help to save you money at the dry cleaners. There is no reason why you should not be able to iron your own shirt at home. You just need to follow some quick and easy steps in order to get the best results.
Step 1 – Wash Your shirt
For the best results, you need to start with a clean shirt. Do not put the shirt in the dryer as the material does not respond well to high temperatures. Instead, transfer the shirt immediately to the ironing board, The wetness will help in ironing out any wrinkles.
Step 2 – Preheat the Iron
Plug in your iron and set the temperature gauge to rayon. If your iron does not have a rayon setting, it may read as silk, or low. Turn off the steam function as you will be using the water in the shirt for steam.
Step 3 – Iron and Hang
Viscose does not respond well to direct heat. Place a cotton cloth over the shirt before ironing in order to avoid shiny material and iron spots on the shirt. Lift the iron to check the status of the wrinkles. When the shirt has been completely ironed, hang to finish drying.
