A homemade carpet stain remover can be quite effective and save you money as well. Common household ingredients and a little elbow grease will clean the stains out of your carpet.

Step 1 – Blot the Stain

Blot the stain with paper towels. Do not rub it around because you will spread the stain.

Step 2 – Mix the Solution

Mix a solution of half vinegar and half water.

Step 3 – Apply Solution to the Stain

Put some on a cloth or sponge and work it into the stain. Blot up the extra liquid. Let it dry then vacuum.

Step 4 – Mix Alternate Solution

If this mixture did not take out the stain then sprinkle baking soda over the stain. Then mix together 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid.

Step 5 – Apply Solution to the Stain

Apply the solution to the stain, working it into the fibers. Let dry and vacuum.

These easy and affordable cleaners will help keep your carpet stain and odor free. And you won't have to make a trip to the store.
