How to Plant Tea Rose Bushes
what you'll need
- Tea Rose Bushes
- Spade
- Soil
- Mulch
Tea rose bushes will make a beautiful addition to your garden. Growing roses is not as hard as you may think, but positioning your rose bushes correctly is essential for healthy plants.
Step 1 - Choosing a Spot
First survey your garden for the best spot. Roses need at least five hours of sunlight a day so choose a sunny place. Morning sun is preferable because it is not as intense as afternoon sun and burns off water and dew quickly, reducing the likelihood of black spots. You can always create a sunny place for your Tea rose bushes by pruning trees.
Step 2 - Digging
Make the hole twice the size of the container that's currently holding the rose bushes, as the roots of the plants will expand once you remove them. Look at your rose bushes to make sure you dig holes deep enough to cover all of the roots.
Step 3 - Soil
Once the hole has been dug, fill it part way with soil. An aerated soil that is a bit acidic works best with Tea roses.
Step 4 - Planting
Now place your rose bush in the hole and cover with more soil. Then place mulch around the rose bushes to keep weeds away.
